Recent black bear sightings in communities around Western New York have caused a lot of excitement, and now, a local construction company is capitalizing on the bear's popularity to raise money for a good cause.

Brian Markovich is the co-owner of 2 Guys Construction in North Tonawanda. He created an "I survived the bear sightings" t-shirt as a joke, but when people wanted to buy one, he decided to turn the t-shirts into a fundraiser.

The money raised will go to support Stella Usiak, a 14-year-old girl from North Tonawanda who has been battling leukemia and complications from a bone marrow transplant since she was 7 years old.

You can get your bear sightings t-shirt at Submasters, 105 Main Street, North Tonawanda. They're $15 and come with a free slice of pizza.
