Family biz providing smiles & laughs since 1915

George & Company has a new home
Posted

It's a local family business that is still going strong after a hundred and three years. George Smilinich III is the third generation of his family to carry on George & Company which was started by his grandfather in 1915. George says "he had a fishing and novelty store."

They just moved to the Transit Town Plaza which triples their space and has allowed for them to expand their eclectic mix of fun stuff. There are a lot of classics here like rubber chickens and whoopee cushions, magic tricks and some of the same silly items that George says they have "been selling for a hundred years."

George's son Michael is the fourth generation to be part of the business, he says "I love working here, the family ties, it's a great place."

Besides all the goofy gags and novelties George and Company has a serious selection of chess sets. George says "people come from all over to get our chess sets."

They feature a collection of costumes, hats, professional make-up, Halloween masks as well as t-shirts, games and puzzles.

George & Company's new location is:  4261 Transit Rd, Williamsville, NY 14221, (Next to Aldi's in the Transitown Plaza) more info at their website.
