NORTH COLLINS, NY (WKBW-TV) — Jamie Awald and her husband Wes transformed an old dairy farm in North Collins, NY into a fun family destination. Jamie says "we have been doing our Fall entertainment barn for twenty plus years, then we got the idea to sell Christmas trees."

This is the maiden voyage for W & J Awald Farms Inc. to venture into the fresh cut tree and wreath business.

The most miraculous transformation was turning the century old round barn into a gift shop. They call it the 'Round Barn Christmas Store'. Reflecting on the unusual building's history, Jamie says "this was built in 1901, they thought it would be more efficient milking cows."

The shop is jam packed with holiday trimmings and many of the gifts found here were made by Jamie. She has created an outlet and a showcase for her "craftiness". She says "I needed to do something, I was with the kids all day and I needed to do something else."

Open every day but Wednesday, W & J Awald Farms Inc. is at 2258 Shirley Road in North Collins. Phone: (716) 337-2608. You can check their hours and get more info on Facebook.
