BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) — The familiar statues atop the Liberty building in downtown Buffalo inspired Jeff Z. Klein. A former reporter with the New York Times, Jeff wondered "if they were alive what would they say?"
He put the imaginary conversation between the "Ladies Liberty" down on paper. Jeff says "one looks east and talks about what she sees and one looks west and talks about what she sees." Jeff's play called A Work Break Downtown is being staged by the Alleyway Theatre as part of the annual Buffalo Quickies.
The first time playwright's work joins seven others that will hit the stage April 11th at the Alleyway Theatre. According to Jeff Z. Klein "It's a great way to talk about Buffalo about the revitalization about how real and unreal it is and how true and how truly not the city is reviving."
