Cheektowaga Police are ramping up patrols in response to a surge of people breaking into cars and stealing things.
Police are now warning residents to keep an eye out. They say the break-ins are happening early in the morning, and in almost all cases, the vehicles were left unlocked.
Thieves are targeting Union Road, Genesee Street, and George Urban Boulevard. Police are reminding you if you see someone breaking into your car, don't try to stop them, call police.
