Thousands of ham dinners delivered

While many people were unwrapping presents or having Christmas breakfast, hundreds of Western New Yorkers were giving back.

Mike Solly was one of hundreds of Buffalo City Mission volunteers who delivered 3,200 ham dinners on Christmas Day. Those hot meals packaged in brown paper bags went to the underprivileged.
The event is now even part of the Lancaster family's tradition. 

Eddie used to be a recipient of the dinners. He says he understands how valuable these hot meals are to folks. That's why he's now on the giving end. 

Shamiel Gary has only been living in Western New York for a month. The Buffalo Bills player was one of the volunteers who helped prepare the meals for delivery. 

Buffalo City Mission leaders say this Annual Hambone Express Event is about more than just a bag of food.
