Tops Markets will close 10 underperforming stores as the company continues to undergo financial restructuring to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

None of the locations are in Western New York. The downsizing will leave Williamsville-based Tops with 159 locations in Upstate New York, Northern Pennsylvania and Vermont.

The affected locations are:

West Genesee Street, Syracuse

South Salina Street, Syracuse

Lake Avenue, Rochester

N. Winton Road, Rochester

Pittsford/Palmyra Road, Fairport

Forgham Street, Lyons

Hamilton Street, Geneva

West 1st Street South, Fulton

S. Main Street, Elmira

Lake Flower Avenue, Saranac Lake

Tops says about 600 employees will be affected by the store closures, which will be complete by the end of November. Tops says they are working with the affected employees to find them alternate job placement within the company.  All other stores are expected to remain open, the company said.

Tops filed for bankruptcy in February after receiving a commitment for a $125 million debtor-in-possession term loan and a $140 million asset based revolving loan.
