The National Weather Service in Buffalo now confirms two tornadoes touched down in Erie County on Thursday and the aftermath is intense.
The Hamburg Fairgrounds suffered extensive damage. Several vehicles in the parking lot had their windows shattered by flying debris. 7 Eyewitness News Photographer Jeffrey Wick tweeted the picture below, showing a car seat that was impaled by a stick.
A state of emergency remains in effect for the Town of Hamburg, with widespread damage reported throughout the southtowns, including Orchard Park and Wales.
Chestnut Ridge Park is a disaster zone at the moment, several trees were split in half as the intense weather moved through on Thursday.
