Ward Road was shut down Tuesday morning between Niagara Falls Boulevard and Church Road after a tractor trailer struck a utility pole.
The accident happened before 6:30 a.m., when the truck slammed into a pole connected to phone and cable lines. First responders told 7 Eyewitness News there were no live wires at the scene. Verizon was called in to take care of the issue. Firefighters were unable to move the truck initially because it was keeping tension on the pole to keep the wires off the ground.
As of 7:30 a.m., there was no reported loss of service for Verizon customers in the area.
