Traffic stop leads to drug charges

Posted

An unlicensed driver in an uninsured car was caught with a bag of cocaine during a traffic stop early this morning, police say.

Officers pulled over 49-year-old Jeffrey Hogue of Tonawanda in a routine traffic stop on Wheeler Street, when they noticed the car had no inspection sticker.

Police then found out that Hogue's car was uninsured, and his license had been suspended. Officers say they spotted a baggie of cocaine along with some straws on the floor of the car near Hogue's feet.

Hogue is being held on $500 bail, and faces charges of drug possession, unlicensed operation, suspended registration, no insurance, and no inspection.
