Three men accused of stealing credit card information from people in Orleans County are now facing similar charges in Niagara County.
Ernesto Alvarez Santos, Able Garcia Fernandez, and Yordani Ramirez Salgado are facing charges that include Forgery, Grand Larceny, Scheme to Defraud, Conspiracy and Resisting Arrest. New York State troopers say the trio came from Florida to New York to install credit card skimming devices, and steal credit card information from people. The devices may have been installed on gas pumps and ATMs.
The three were arrested January 24th after police say they tried to use fraudulent gift cards at the WalMart in Albion. They were taken into custody in Orleans County.
About a week later, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office issued warrants for the same three men, saying they were also involved in recent credit card skimming and identity thefts in the Town of Lockport.
State Police say their investigation is ongoing. They're asking anyone who thinks they might be a victim of credit card fraud to call their County Dispatch non-emergency number.
