State troopers in Albany helped a woman give birth on the side of the thruway Saturday morning.
State Police say they responded to a report of a disabled car in the area of the eastbound "D" ramp, near Exit 24 around 5:40 a.m.
Troopers say they found Kristi Koppenhafer, 25, of Gloversville having a baby in the car while on the way to the emergency room. Troopers immediately requested an ambulance.
With help from her husband, Adrian Koppenhafer, and two troopers, Kristi was able to give birth to a healthy baby girl.
Shortly after the birth, an ambulance arrived and took everyone to a local hospital.
Mother and daughter are reported to be in good health.
