UB hit-and-run suspect arraigned before a judge

A woman who police say struck a pedestrian with a vehicle at UB went before an Amherst Town Court Judge Monday. 

Police say 20-year-old Hannah Christensen was traveling in a 2005 Honda Civic when she struck a UB student from Singapore on Hadley Road in front of the Hadley Village Apartments. The hit-and-run happened before 10 p.m. on Thursday, November 1st.

The victim, who is also 20-years-old, was taken to ECMC in critical condition. She suffered a fractured pelvis and a fractured skull and is still in the hospital. 

Christensen is charged with one count of leaving the scene of an incident without reporting and one count of failure to yield to a pedestrian.

She faces up to four years in prison if convicted.
