With a week left in this year's Catholic Charities Appeal, Buffalo's Catholic Diocese is $300,000 short of its $11 million goal.

Bishop Richard Malone gave 7 Eyewitness News an update this morning.

The Bishop is reaching out to Western New Yorkers, asking them to give what they can to help support the 70 programs Catholic Charities runs.

The diocese helped more than 152,000 people last year.

"I think any time you walk down the street, you're probably looking at someone who has, or whose family member or friend has walked into a Catholic Charities office seeking some kind of assistance.  And we want to be able to provide that," explanined Bishop Malone.

The bishop says the diocese will focus on fundraising every day until the end of the campaign.

The last official day is June 30th.
