Brilliant or bizarre?
EDEKA, Germany’s largest grocery chain, created a commercial where a man fakes his own death to get his children and grandchildren to visit him for Christmas.
The start of the commercial shows the man being told by his children that they won’t be coming home for Christmas. He then sits and eats alone.
The commercial then shows his children each receiving the news that their father has died. They all make it to his house, dressed all in black, but as they somberly enter they find their dad alive.
He asks, “How else could I have brought you all together? Mmh?”
The commercial ends with the message: “Time to come home.”
