The Village of Depew will remain as it is.
Village residents turned out in large numbers on Tuesday to vote on whether or not to dissolve, and with a vote of 3,006 to 1,165, residents decided to keep the village as it is.

A yes vote would have meant that half of Depew becomes part of Cheektowaga, the other, Lancaster.
According to those in favor of dissolving, the move would have meant a significant drop in taxes, for the village's 15,000 residents. Also, the police department, department of public works, fire department among other services would have been eliminated over the next few years.
Since residents in Depew voted not to dissolve, dissolution can't be voted on again for another four years.
