After an EF2 tornado tore apart the Erie County Fairgrounds, contractors, fair staff and the community rallied together to prepare the grounds for opening day.
In the fair's gift shop, you'll see shirts that read "we survived fairnado 2017"." There's no evidence a tornado touched down on the grounds because it's filled with food stands, the mooing of calfs and even a group of monkeys ready to put on a show.
You'll find hours of family fun. Gates open at noon today. The fair runs until August 20th. Admission is $10 for adults and free for children 12 and under.
We've got a list of ways to save yourhard earned dollars at the fair for you.
