The SKM Group,a local advertising agency was trying to find a new spokesperson for one of their clients. They decided on actor Stephen McKinley Henderson, a familiar face from movies, television and the Broadway stage.
Henderson has appeared in movies like Tower Heist and Lincoln and TV shows like Law and Order and The Newsroom. He normally doesn't consider doing commercials, he says "if you want to be considered for serious dramatic roles you don't want to be selling toilet paper".
In this case, the client was Mash Urgent Care. Once Stephen agreed to do the commercial he was afraid that he might be disqualified because he is currently awaiting hip surgery and walking with a cane. The client did not see a problem with that so Stephen Henderson became the new local pitchman for Mash Urgent Care.
Stephen has lived in Buffalo since the mid 1980's and currently still teaches at the University at Buffalo. He calls himself an "overnight success thirty years in the making."
