West Seneca Police have arrested the man suspected of several residential and commercial burglaries over the New Year's weekend.

Police say Anthony Choate, 26, was arrested Tuesday after he returned to an Emporium Avenue home that he had previously robbed. A cab driver he used called police because Choate did not pay for the ride.

Officials say Choate was arrested near the home and charged with burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property, criminal mischief and intent to defraud.

West Seneca Detectives say Choate is linked to several of the crimes in the Winchester neighborhood over the weekend and in the recent past.

Burglaries reported in the area included those at Southern Classic Auto, Don Juan Restaurant and Great Lakes Pizzeria, along with several stolen cars and house burglaries.

Choate is being held in the Erie County Holding Center on $10,000 bail.
