Plenty of people showed up to help the SPCA "empty the shelters" at their West Seneca location Saturday morning. For one day, adoption fees for dogs and cats that were a year old or more were free.
Some people lined up as early as 5 a.m. for the 11 dogs that were made available for the free adoption.

The SPCA ran out of free dogs for adoption only an hour after opening the doors.
For those who went home without mans best friend, SPCA of West Seneca had other adoptable animals were available as well with adoption fees.
