A Western New York couple is getting a new reality show about flipping homes called “Risky Builders.”
Chris and Lorissa Naugle own “Flip Out Academy” inside “The Event Center” at the Eastern Hills Mall. They teach people how to make a profit on vacant homes. So far, the couple has flipped 150 homes in places like Lancaster, Clarence, Williamsville, and Wheatfield.
"Risky Builders," originally scheduled to air February 18th, was postponed due to the Daytona 500 and the Winter Olympics.
The show then had to go through a new panel of network testing and after a four month wait, their pilot episode will air Sunday June 24th at 2 p.m.
“We’ll get a lead on a house and then Chris and I will jump in the car. IF we are interested in the property and we think there is profit to be made we’ll call Blair,” Lorissa said.
Blair is the couple’s friend and lead contractor/designer. He said his line of work is very risky.
“When you flip a house you’re taking a risk financially and when you build a house you’re taking a risk if you’re doing construction,” Blair said.
The couple said Buffalo’s real estate market is fairly new, which makes it easy and affordable for anybody to flip homes.
“Because of the low price real estate and because of all the things that are happening here, the medical campus, the waterfront. I mean real estate is booming,” Chris said.
