Your afternoon frappuccino may have to wait until Wednesday, unless you find one of the franchised Starbucks locations that will be open Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, most Starbucks locations will close at 2:30 p.m. local time to allow for employees to participate in racial-bias education.
The training was announced last month after a store manager called police to forcibly remove two African-Americans for loitering. The incident drew criticism and calls for boycott against Starbucks.
However, some franchised locations in Western New York will remain open on Tuesday past 2:30 p.m. So, if you just can't live without that specialty caffeinated beverage, you will find relief at five locations. Below are the hours listed on the Starbucks website:
Hyatt Buffalo (2 Fountain Plaza) 6:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Target Cheektowaga (1750 Walden Avenue) 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Target Orchard Park (5622 Amanda Lane) 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.
Target Boulevard Mall (1575 Niagara Falls Blvd) 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Target Cheektowaga/Depew (4920 Transit Rd.) 8:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
