The future of the old AM&A's building on Main Street in Buffalo is uncertain after the former owners, New Horizon Acquisitions LLC, filed for foreclosure on the property after the current owner, Landco failed to pay Horizon portions of the mortgage which total $2,175,000. This was supposed to be done on November 25th, 2014.
This is not the only legal problems facing Landco. The company they hired to clear the asbestos in the building has also placed a lien on the property (essentially a hold) in an attempt to get the almost $500,000 they are owed.
According to Clean Air Abatement co-owner Zoila Alonzo this money owed is due to Landco failing to pay for a job that was completed last summer. She says if the payment is not made, her company could be forced to close their doors after being open for five years.
"What's at risk is my company, my livelihood, even jobs that I currently have in operation are in jeopardy" Alonzo said.
As of now, it is unknown if the foreclosure will have any effect on the Clean Air Abatement money issue.
