Buffalo's Outer Harbor getting new life

Posted

$5 million was presented towards Buffalo's Outer Harbor in the hopes of transforming parts of it into a new nature trail, bike park, lawn, and overlook. It is part of the $121 million that was already given to make the Outer Harbor much more pedestrian friendly.

"Every city needs a front porch and this has become Buffalo's front porch" Assemblyman Sean Ryan (D, Buffalo) said.

This is just a continuing trend of Buffalo's hopes for better, quicker, and cheaper properties.

"When you create the synergy of what we have here and at Canalside," Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul said, "they are world class destinations."

This new Outer Harbor is hoped to open sometime in 2019.
