The initiative is a partnership between the City of Buffalo, University at Buffalo Regional Institute and Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation.
The plan for the new, re-imagined LaSalle Park includes:
- repaired athletic fields
- quadrupling the number of walking paths
- more opportunities for sports
- a 5K loop
- more than three miles of cycling paths
- enhanced dog run
- closer parking
- an "outcrop" feature for safely launching kayaks and canoes
- a "lagoon" to attract migratory birds
