From old gas station to 5 story apartment building

Posted

The corner of Hertel Avenue and Parkside Avenue has seen gas station after gas station for years, and now, developer John Daly is looking to change that.

"It's going to be a great urban building that really compliments the neighborhood and fills it" Daly said.

This urban building is going to be a five-story mixed use facility featuring 6 store and 34 apartments. One bedroom apartments will be starting at $995 per month.

"We've got our ground floor 90 percent leased up, and we've got demand for all of the apartments." Daly said, "It's just great to see that."

The complex has even taken parking into account, adding spaces beneath the building that will bring cars down via elevator.

"If you're a tenant in the building you'll be able to pull in, take an elevator right down, and have secure parking."

Due to the years of gas and oil being funneled into the soil, there has been a pretty serious amount of clean up needed on the site. According to Daly that will be cleared up in the next few weeks, where they will then begin construction with a hopeful opening of Spring of 2019.
