BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — An industrial hemp-CBD facility is coming to Buffalo's East Side.
The plant, which will be owned by Jushi Inc, has received approval as part of the New York State Industrial Hemp Agricultural Research Program.
It will create 30-65 jobs for the area, and house a state-of-the-art lab that will test and analyze CBD. The products produced there will then be sold to the public.
The type of research being done here is incredibly exciting for Dr. Nicholas Fuhrmann, who uses CBD in his chirophractic treatments. He hopes that this new research brings some legitimacy to a polarizing form of treatment.
"It's something we really have to overcome to get the higher quality research out there to show that we know it works" Dr. Fuhrmann said.
