BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — You can help determine the future of a chunk of Canalside's redevelopment.

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation is now asking for public input for its plans for what's known as "The Pit" -- a two-acre block that's been left empty for years.

Right now, the state is kicking in $10 million to revitalize the site. Developers are interested in making it into a mixed-use complex with apartments and office space; they also want to improve parking access to Buffalo's Waterfront.

"As we've moved through these development parcels, especially the larger ones like Harbor Center, like One Canalside, if we can embed parking, structured parking inside and in this case below ground, we're trying to do that," says Steve Renalli, president of the ECHDC. "We think it's good for the overall development."

The state now has a survey up for you to weigh in on the project. You can take the survey here.
