BUFFALO (WKBW) — Construction on Buffalo's newest place to take a dip is back underway. Work on the Chandler Street Pool Club in Buffalo's Black Rock community has resumed after being held up during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"We were delayed for three months but we have restarted the pool club and will actually be pouring the pool within the next two weeks." Rocco Termini, CEO of Signature Development, tells 7 Eyewitness News.
Located at 140 Chandler Street, right next to Tappo Pizza and Thin Man Brewery, the project received initial approval in December. The original plan was to have the pool club opened for business by Memorial Day. Now Termini has his sights set on 2021.
"We have done all the site work and all the environmental remediation. It won't open this year because of social distancing, but it will be ready to be opened up next year.", said Termini.
Termini says while the timeline for the Chandler Pool Club has changed the plans have remained the same. "We will have a restaurant, we will have seating for 300 people. It will be an Olympic sized pool."
The club is expected to be accessible for anyone in the community with a cover fee and also offer private memberships.
