Andrew Minier, Race Director and Sales Coordinator at Kissing Bridge, says Wednesday's the day they've been waiting for. He says he doesn't ever remember opening this late into the season, but even last year the resort didn't open until New Year's Day.
"It was nice to be out," Dennis Collins, a 36-year veteran on the mountain said. "It's about time."
Jim Thomson agreed. "I love winter, I love snow sports, I was like a kid before Christmas last night."
Both hills opening Wednesday have a base of more than three feet of snow, something Minier says will likely allow the resort to stay open through the warm up expected later this week.
"We're hammering some of the slopes to the north," Minier said. "We'll continue that right up until a little warm up this weekend then we'll continue off until next week."
The trails open at 9 a.m. and will remain open until 9 p.m.
