TOWN OF TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WKBW) — One local restaurant is working hard to stay open for business. Greek to Me in the Town of Tonawanda opened a healthy, fresh option for customers called the sidewalk market.
"Just mainly for our customers and to be able to resource the food we use on a daily basis in the restaurant," said Vince Karam, the owner.
@Greektomebflo just opened a sidewalk market full of fresh produce! They’re open and serving the WNY community in any way they can. More info tonight! @WKBW pic.twitter.com/IIAJCnNKtG

They opened a market on Tuesday morning out in front of the restaurant, selling fruits and vegetables to keep their business alive.
"Business has went down about half. We have to find new creative ways. We started delivery after 18 years, we've never offered delivery," said Karam.
They still offer a full menu via curbside pickup as well. When customers stop by, they can grab what they need. The goal is to save you a trip to the grocery store.
"They're always super packed, there's limited options and you have to wait in line for sometimes a half an hour just to get your food," said Victoria Tucker, who stopped by to get cantaloupe.
All produce is less than $5. A bag of apples goes for $3.50. This addition is already a hit in the community.
"Oh they love it, they absolutely love it. In fact we just decided...we're going to extend our hours," said Karam.
The sidewalk market is open from 10am-6pm daily. The restaurant is open 10-6pm as well and until 8pm on Friday and Saturday.
