ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Polymer Conversions has been working around the clock to do their part in the battle against COVID-19. They’ve been open and manufacturing parts throughout the pandemic.
“We run a typical three shifts on Monday through Friday,” chief operating officer Ben Harp said. “We’re fortunate that what we make here are critical to life application devices.”
A portion of their regular output was already geared towards respiratory devices such as inhalers. But over the last month, parts for those, among others, have become the top priority.
“The really big change was that we had to move a few things that affected COVID-19 to the frontlines,” project engineer Cristina Cisneros said. “And we had to move a few things that don’t affect COVID-19 to the back. So it’s just job priority at this point.”
Another priority that has come to the forefront is sanitation and safety on site. Employees are wearing masks and washing their hands hourly as they do their part to arm healthcare workers in the fight against COVID-19.
