Ski resorts abiding by capacity restrictions

ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — Hitting the slopes this holiday weekend could look a little bit different than any other year.

"You need to have your mask on all the time except if you're eating, drinking or going down the hills" Jane Eshbaugh, director of marketing at Holiday Valley said.

Ski resorts like Holiday Valley aren't exempt from the COVID-19 capacity restrictions. It has required a bit of maneuvering because the number can fluctuate depending on how much of Holiday Valley is actually open.

"Figure out our busiest day and reduce that capacity by 25%," Eshbaugh said, "It's really complicated. We have to estimate how many pass holders are coming, how many we sold online and also how many tickets we have available at the windows."

The best thing to do is to buy tickets ahead of time because there is a chance tickets could be sold out.

"There is a possibility, but hopefully we can communicate enough so that will never happen."
