BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — With the absence of wine and whiskey festivals, limited service at restaurants, how can lovers of spirits discover new favorites safely and in a convenient way?

One local restaurant came up with an idea.

"We ended up partnering with Step Out Buffalo and now we've launched a wine subscription box that you can purchase," said Jake Strawser, co-owner of Billy Club.

Here's how it works: visit to their website, and choose what type of subscription you'd like.

"You'll see the options there for either a monthly, reoccurring subscription, you can buy just one box, or you could get a three or six month box subscription. That's just like a limited term that you can gift to someone else," said Strawser.

Buffalo Booze Box was founded by Strawser and some friends in December - just before Christmas, and it did well.

The wine launch is to help offset COVID-19 losses and help the small business.

"Buffalo is an amazing city, and even though we had to close our indoor dining down, the support that we received throughout take-out and just the overall support of people helping local businesses has been fantastic," said Strawser.

And Billy Club just reopened in-door dining last week. Strawser said right now is a great time to support you local businesses.
