BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For the first time in months, Mission: Ignite has a fresh stock of refurbished computers. When the pandemic initially hit in March, the executive director said computers went flying off the shelves, but it was a struggle to get them back.
“We knew if we didn’t use some of our own investment, we wouldn’t have solutions for our community,” executive director Christine Carr-Barmasse said.
So, the nonprofit invested in 100 laptops for students and families still in need of low-cost solutions, and they’re all 50% off for Black Friday, meaning you can get a desktop computer for as low as $150 and a laptop for $200.
“$200 is an entry," Carr-Barmasse said. "We have just a couple of those. Most of them start at $250 and go all the way up to $400, and in the market of laptops, that’s actually a sensational price.”
The laptops vary in size, and most of them come with cameras, and though these computers are refurbished, the software is fully up to date.
“So when we look at the outside, it may have some love that's showing up on its exterior, but it's the inside that matters most,” she said.
To purchase a refurbished computer, head over to the Mission: Ignite website. When you check out, use the Code Black Friday 2020.
“If you need a computer, don’t wait because 100 laptops sounds like a lot, but it will go very quickly,” Carr-Barmasse said.
