BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Charter Spectrum is bringing back its free internet program this fall for students in kindergarten through 12th grade or in college.
Educators will also be eligible for the program.
According to Spectrum, any student or educator who lives in a Spectrum internet area and is not currently a customer can enroll and receive broadband or WiFi internet for up to 60 days, at speeds up to 200 Mbps.
The company first offered free internet for remote education back in March. The company says 448,000 new households enrolled in the program.
Anyone interested in enrolling can call 844-310-1198. New households will receive a free self-installation kit.
Those who do not fall into the student or educator categories may still be eligible for a program called Spectrum Internet Assist, which offers 30 Mbps broadband for low-income households and seniors. Households have to qualify for the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) of the NSLP, or Supplemental Security Income in order to apply.
