Theatre season in Western New York will kick off with 'Virtual Curtain Up!'

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The annual kick off party to theatre season in Western New York is going virtual this year, because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Buffalo Theatre District's 'Curtain Up!' celebration will take place online.

This year, the event will be a one hour online presentation from the following Western New York theatres

  • Alleyway Theatre
  • Brazen Faced Varlets
  • Buffalo United Artists
  • Irish Classical Theatre Company
  • Jewish Repertory Theatre
  • Kavinoky Theatre
  • Lancaster Opera House
  • MusicalFare Theatre
  • New Phoenix Theatre on the Park
  • O'Connell & Company
  • Paul Robeson Theatre at the African American Cultural Center
  • Road Less Traveled Productions
  • Second Generation Theatre Co.
  • Shea's Performing Arts Center (Shea's 710, Shea's Buffalo and Shea's Smith)
  • Theatre of Youth
  • Torn Space Theater

'Curtain Up!' will take place on Friday, September 18th at 8 p.m. and will include special performances and with their plans for the upcoming season.
