BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — A Buffalo-based disinfectant company is expanding its footprint, making a $7 million investment in additional warehouse space to keep up with demand for its products during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Safetec of America, headquartered on Kensington Avenue in Buffalo, has purchased a 66,712 sq. ft. facility formerly owned by the United States Postal Service on Monsignor Valente Drive in Buffalo. In addition to the new space, the company is also adding machinery that will help the company keep more finished inventory on hand and increase its output.
Safetec makes a variety of infection control and first aid products. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, it has seen a spike in orders for its hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipes and soaps. The company has added more than 50 employees so far in 2020, and expects to add 10 to 20 more jobs through the end of 2020.
The company currently has open positions listed on its website.
