BUFFALO, N — Whether your kids are in school or learning at home this year, they probably have moments where they come to you for help. For many parents the hardest thing to lend a hand with is "new math" because so many of us were taught differently.

EPIC, or Every Person Influences Children, is an organization that works with parents across Western New York. When school went remote in the spring, the group got a number of calls from parents who were looking for help teaching their kids in the new format.

"Some of our staff and some of our interns over the summer did specific videos on our YouTube page teaching adults how to do new math. So there are some 2-3 minute videos out there, and some great resources where you can find all of that stuff," explained Jamie Rackl, EPIC's Director of Family Engagement and Professional Development.

If you check out the Epic Academy YouTube page, you can find dozens of videos on topics ranging from new math to english and science.

You can also access help on a number of topics at the Epic Academy website. You can break down what you're looking for by grade level or by subject.
