ALBANY, N.Y. (WKBW) — Two more regions are entering Phase One of re-opening this week. Mid-Hudson Valley and Long Island have met the seven criteria to re-open, Mid-Hudson Valley enters Phase one today and Long Island is set to begin tomorrow, May 27.

"While we're reopening, supercharge the reopening, right. Stock market opened today. We want that economy to come roaring back. We want it to come roaring back. And that's not going to happen just by wishing it to be so. We have to take an affirmative action, we have to be part of that, and today is page one of that chapter," said Governor Andrew Cuomo.

These regions join the Capital Region, Western New York, Central New York, North Country, Finger Lakes, Southern Tier and Mohawk Valley Regions.

For regions that have not met the criteria to reopen, New York on PAUSE has been extended by Governor Cuomo through May 28. However, the state of emergency for New York has been extended to June 13th, meaning the individual executive orders comprising PAUSE will stay in effect at least until then for regions that have not met criteria.
