The best lacrosse player in history has his rightful place in the rafters of First Niagara Center.
The Buffalo Bandits retired John Tavares' No. 11 on Friday night before a 13-10 win over the Rochester Knighthawks.
Tavares is the Bandits and National Lacrosse League's all-time leading scorer.
He retired last summer after a 24-year career.
Tavares is currently an assistant coach for the Bandits.
