The Buffalo Beauts played spoiler Saturday afternoon in their final home game of the regular season.
With a 5-3 win, the Beauts handed the Metropolitan Riveters their first loss of the season and extended the Beauts' winning streak to six games.
The Riveters struck first in the game but Buffalo's Hayley Scamurra evened things up to make it a 1-1 game through one period of play.
Corrine Buie put the Beauts ahead by a goal in the 2nd period but the Riveters responded to once again tie things up heading into the break.
In the 3rd and final period, the Beauts exploded. Maddie Elia, Kaylyn Schroka (short-handed), and Kristin Lewicki all added goals to seal the win for the Beauts.
The Beauts are now 8-4 in the NWHL standings and are back in action against Boston on Sunday, February 18th.
