Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus will have to wait until next month in a bid to resolve a misdemeanor reckless endangerment charge after crashing his car during an alleged car race.

Dareus appeared in Hamburg Town court on Tuesday, when his hearing was rescheduled for Jan. 13. Attorney Michael Caffery said he and the Erie County District Attorney's office agreed to the postponement to continue discussions in an attempt to "resolve the case without a trail."

In July, Caffery turned down an offer to plead guilty to reckless driving.

The Bills' 2011 first-round draft pick was charged and also issued numerous traffic violations after crashing his 2012 Jaguar into a tree during an alleged race with teammate Jerry Hughes not far from Ralph Wilson Stadium on May 30.
