Chad Kelly's quest to become a quarterback in the National Football League took another turn on Wednesday.

The NFL officially unveiled the list of players invited to the annual NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, and Kelly's name was not among the 15 quarterbacks invited to the event. Kelly, who suffered a season-ending knee injury during his final college football season at Ole Miss, will have to rely on individual interviews with teams for his draft prospects this year.

His non-invitation likely wasn't for a lack of ability on the field. According to Matt Miller of Bleacher Report, Kelly was not invited to the NFL Combine based on off-field issues -- whether it be in his time at Clemson, or when he's home in Buffalo.

The St. Joe's product attended the Senior Bowl in January, unable to participate due to the knee injury. He told 7 ABC during the event that it would be a "dream come true," to play for the Buffalo Bills.

The NFL Combine begins on Tuesday, February 28 and extends through the end of the week.
