Defense shines, Offense struggles in loss to Panthers

It was a tale of two units Sunday afternoon.

The Bills defense shined in a game where five different players recorded six sacks. Their pass rushing and overall performance is what kept the Bills in the game.

But it was the offense who kept letting them down, failing to gain any yards on the ground and unable to capitalize in the air. The Bills had a chance to win the game on a 4th down with seconds left but a pass attempt to Zay Jones fell incomplete after the rookie WR couldn't haul it in.

Running back LeSean McCoy had one of his worst performances, carrying the ball 12 times for just 9 total yards. McCoy struggled against a Panther defense that found a way to keep him either behind or just a few yards past scrimmage.

Quarterback Tyrod Taylor didn't do much better in the air. He finished with just 125 passing yards on 17 throws. Overall, the Bills offense managed just 10 first downs and 176 total yards.

The Bills are now 1-1 on the year and will be back at home next Sunday when they play the Denver Broncos.
