BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Toronto Blue Jays moved that much closer to qualifying for the playoffs for the first time since 2016 with a win against division rival Baltimore Orioles at Sahlen Field, Sunday afternoon.
The Blue Jays beat the Orioles 6-5 on a walk-off single from right fielder Teoscar Hernandez in the bottom of the ninth inning, improving to 18-14 on the season with an 8-4 record in Buffalo.
This was the second walk-off for the Blue Jays in three games, after center fielder Randal Grichuk hit a game-winning home run against the Orioles in the bottom of the 10th inning, Friday night.
As of Monday morning, the Blue Jays sit in the eighth and final playoff spot in the American League, only one game back of the division rival Yankees who sit in fifth place.
