BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Monday night's Bills-49ers on 7ABC and ESPN was the highest-rated Monday Night Football game in the Buffalo-area since at least 2006 when the primetime broadcast moved to the sports network, according to ESPN.
The game scored a combined Nielsen rating of 44.9 on ESPN and 7ABC in the Buffalo-area, which topped the previous high rating of 42.2 for a 2015 match-up between the Bills and Patriots.
A ratings point represents approximately 5,800 households in the Buffalo market, which means the game was watched by about 261,000 homes in Western New York.
The second highest-rated market was San Francisco, where the game received a rating of 19.1.
Monday night's game was also the second highest rated Monday Night Football game of the season.
