BUFFALO, N.Y. [WKBW] — Clarence native Chris Collins has used the last month to produce some of the funniest videos on social media for sports fans in Western New York.
A graduate of St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo, Collins now lives in Los Angeles where he's pursuing a career in acting. But with extra free time during the COVID-19 pandemic, Collins wanted to give his hometown a reason to smile.
"I’ve been sitting on my hands during this quarantine and I figured Buffalo needed something to laugh about," Collins said. "If I can give anyone like five minutes of just not thinking about their problems that makes me happy."
Collins said he was inspired to start making the videos by the recent success of Barstool Sports comedian and writer Joey Mulinaro. In less than a month, Collins' videos have nearly 500-thousand views on social media, with the majority of the traction coming on Twitter. Collins doesn't plan to stop making the videos anytime soon and is thankful his hometown has his back.
"The fact that they’re rooting for me and everyone roots for each other, it’s really nice. I couldn’t be more proud to be from Buffalo and at this point, it’s really helping me out."
