ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WKBW) — Buffalo Bills linebacker A.J. Klein has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for Week 12, following a career game vs. the Chargers.
Klein recorded a career-high 14 tackles in Sunday's win, along with 1.5 sacks and three tackles for a loss. He also broke up one pass. He now leads the team with five sacks. According to the Bils, he's one of only two players in the NFL this season to have more than 50 tackles and 5 or more sacks.
Klein is the second member of the Bills to be named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week this season-- defensive end Jerry Hughes earned the title following the team's win against the New York Jets in Week 7.
Klein has played a larger role on the Bills defense as linebacker Matt Milano works through an injury. Milano was designated for return to practice as of yesterday, according to the team.
