BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — If you're not watching the Bills playoff game on Saturday against the Houston Texans on 7ABC, you're probably looking into flights.

Before you click, "book my flight" here's everything you need to know, in order to get the best deal.

According to AAA, a round-trip flight on Southwest will cost you about $1,200.

Looking at Google Flights, your best bet to fly to Houston on New Year's Eve and fly back on Monday, January 6th, as flights are as low as $366.

AAA suggested buying tickets as soon as possible and remaining flexible on the return date. If you can stay an extra day in Houston, you could save a few hundred dollars in flights.

Driving is also an option, but time consuming. Houston is approximately a 22 hour drive from Buffalo, with an average gas cost of around $150.

On the positive side, hotels in Houston are fairly affordable. AAA said they found rooms ranging from $40-$80 in hotels such as Holiday Inn.
